My Archies Flip Flops are too hard, what do I do?Updated a year ago

Archies Flip Flops have a patented footbed that molds to the shape of your feet as you wear them. When they are new, the material still needs to soften and shape to suit your feet. This could also be a reason for the arch feeling uncomfortable for some. Don't worry, with wear, this will improve!

How to wear them in

The best way to customize the footbed of Archies Flip Flops to your feet is to gradually wear them in. We recommend wearing them for 20 mins a day. This will allow the footbed to mould to your feet with minimal discomfort. It will also give your feet time to adapt to the support.

Short on time or perhaps find the arch too high? Heat moulding sorts it out!

Archies Flip Flops are made from a special form of foam that responds to heat. When heated, the material will become soft and mouldable, so heating them and then standing on them will customize the footbed to your feet. If the strap and toe pole is feeling tight, we also recommend stretching them while the material is warm.

Here's how to heat mold your Archies Flip Flops - very important, as you will be using boiling water, please be very careful.

You will need the following: a kettle, a clean sink, and a towel to place on the floor

  1. Boil the kettle and place the plug into the sink
  2. Fill up the sink with the boiling water. Place the flip flops arch facing down into the boiling water.
  3. Keep them in the hot water for 1 minute.
  4. Take out and pat dry with the towel.
  5. Place the towel on the floor and position the flip flops on the towel.
  6. Stand on the flip flops as quickly as possible trying to put all of your body weight into the flip flops - particularly trying to squash down the areas where the arch feels too high.
  7. Do this for about 3-4 minutes. It's often good to transfer weight from one leg to the other so that the majority of the body weight goes through the flip-flops for a period. We also recommend stretching the toe poles and straps if they are too tight.

You can repeat this as many times as necessary until the flip flops have molded perfectly to your feet.
